We’re happy that you’ve stopped by GearDemo for a visit. We hope you like what you see—and hear—and we hope we’ve created a place where you enjoy spending time. We think we’ve built something quite unique that will pique your curiosity, feed your insatiable hunger for awesome gear and great music and fulfill your desire to learn from some of the best musicians around.
How GearDemo Came to Be
Maybe Sam Cooke said it best: “A change is gonna come, oh yes it will.”
Of course, in 1964 Cooke wasn’t talking about the music industry, but no words could be more apropos today: The explosion of new technologies over the past decade or so has spawned phenomenal changes in how we create and consume music—some good, some not so much—especially for musicians.
Technology has truly democratized the music industry. Now, every band can record a decent CD or video—everyone can, and people all over the world are discovering new, remarkably creative music as a result.
Or are they?
The missing piece for many musicians—and the piece you might need the most help with—is finding a way to drive people to discover your work and then to buy it. That’s why GearDemo came about. We want to provide a brand new way for you to market and promote yourself to help people find you and purchase your music.
But That’s Not All
Because we’re musicians too, we value the knowledge and expertise, the advice and opinions, that other musicians bring to the music community, and we firmly believe that you should be compensated as professionals for your work. So, we’ve found a way to do just that.
“What’s the catch?” you ask. There is no catch. We simply charge a small fee for access to the demos, lessons, tutorials and music on the site. Then, GearDemo returns a lion’s share of the profit from those purchases back to the artist.
Better than “Free”?
Don’t take us wrong—we like free music- and video-sharing sites as much as you do. They’re fun, they’re social and we’ve benefitted a lot from the content we’ve found there. But now, we want to take it up a notch, and we think you might too.
In the simplest sense, GearDemo.com provides a professional online venue for artists to share their expertise, talent and work while gaining valuable exposure within the music community. But GearDemo offers so much more: It establishes a marketplace, an opportunity, where musicians can build a new revenue stream based on their knowledge and expertise—not just the gigs they perform—and be compensated as professionals for their expertise.
Hear the gear. Meet the players. Listen to the music.
That’s GearDemo’s invitation to you—to become part of our vibrant new marketplace that’s designed to benefit music makers every bit as much as music consumers. We believe GearDemo offers the best for both worlds:
- Affordable access to a growing collection of informative gear demos, lessons, tutorials and music that you love
- An easy-to-use—yet professional—online avenue for publishing your work for others to discover
- Exposure to millions of fans
- A robust and dynamic community that shares your passion for music
- Monetary support for the musicians and artists who make it all possible

We’re in It for the Long Haul
We know an undertaking as ambitious as GearDemo won’t mature overnight, and that’s OK—we’re in it for the long haul. And with your help, we know it’s not only possible, but it’s the right way to do business. Please join us in this new adventure.
